Self Appraisal activity (4th - 30th April,2021)Cleanliness is godliness!

The tiny tots of the pre- primary wing enthusiastically participated in the Self Appraisal activity that was conducted from 4 th - 30 th April.They were acquainted with the importance of maintaining personal hygiene. The little ones learnt the ways to improve their tarn out various objects like a toothbrush, comb etc.The activities were integrated with developing their fine and gross motor skills.Various sensory activities were also conducted to facilitate learning about sense organs in the them.They were also sensitized about healthy eating habits and how food choices affect their health.

Various sensory activities like the scavenger hunt, touch and feel different textures were conducted to motivate children to use their senses in order to explore their surroundings.

Earth day celebrations (19th -22nd April,2021)

Earth day craft activity was conducted to sensitize the children about the need to keep mother earth clean and green. The activity Let’s Pot a Plant was done to encourage every child to plant one tree a year and take care of it by watering it regularly. The activity aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues such as climate change and enhancing some nifty skills to take care of our environment.


Life cycle of a butterfly- English enrichment activity (26th April, 2021)

In our constant endeavor to prepare our children for a future that cannot be foreseen, we focus upon the very idea of active learning. The learner thus is actively engaged and is experientially involved in the learning process. The English enriching activity for the month of April was ‘Life cycle of a butterfly’ The activity promoted critical thinking and helped them to learn more meaningfully and joyfully. It helped the child ren to be more engaged in their learning and retaining more information.


Mother’s Day (9th May, 2021)

Mother’s Day is an occasion which no one wants to miss! All the creatures on this earth share a special bond with their mother. Keeping this emotion in mind, students of grade II celebrated Mother’s Day on 9th May. Students made beautiful cards for their mothers and showed their love and affection through lovely gestures like making cake and lemonade for their mothers. This activity encouraged the children to appreciate their mothers for what they do for their children.

        
Celebrating the ‘Yog Parv’ on International Yoga Day (21st June, 2021)

International Yoga Day was celebrated with great fervour in the pre-primary wing on 21st June to motivate children to stay fit and healthy during this pandemic. The little yogis and yoginis displayed their flexibility through their yogic performances. They portrayed the benefits of yoga through poster making thereby creating awareness about the need to do yoga for holistic development and wellbeing.

        
Father’s Day activity (27thJune, 2021)

On Father’s Day, children designed beautiful cards and prepared lemonade and laddus to express their love and appreciation for their dads. The activity aimed at developing the socio- emotional skills of the children thereby strengthening the bond between the children and their fathers.

            
Thanks Giving card for family and friends (30th June, 2021)

The tiny tots of primary wing learnt to express their gratitude through writing and drawing about what they were grateful for. They expressed their appreciation for their family and friends. Students generated their ideas beautifully through card making activity held on 30th June. They learnt that recognising others and appreciating them is a significant part of cultivating meaningful relationships.

        
A Month dedicated to English language (July, 2021)

The learners of Primary Wing joyfully participated in a myriad of activities ranging from storytelling to role play and puppetry. Students were acquainted with the life and literary works of J.K. Rowling. They portrayed the roles from the famous Harry Potter series with great confidence and poise which was a treat for the eyes. It also gave them an opportunity to showcase their creativity by designing colourful magic wands for character portrayal.
The budding orators learnt the usage of magic words through the using the magic words activity. The mentors prepared visual aids like magic words wall hanging to help children register and recall the magic words and use them in their conversation.


Social Science Week (9th - 13th August, 2021)

The mentors engaged the learners to know more about the various tribal art forms of Incredible India, through art integrated approach. The activities helped them learn more about the rich culture and tradition of India. Students designed beautiful mandalas and Gond art which talked volumes about the diversity of Indian art forms.

My Country Week- Let’s Remember Our Heroes (9th -13th, August, 2021)

To infuse the feeling of patriotism and nationalism among the learners, the primary wing celebrated the Independence Day with great zeal and fervor. The tiny tots paid a homage to the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters through role play. They did flag making activity to show their reverence for the Tiranga and made colourful kites symbolic of freedom.. The teachers showed them videos to acquaint them about the unconditional love the unsung heroes had for the country


Janmashtami Celebration (27th August, 2021)

The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with great zeal on 27th August. The little ones were shown a movie on the life of Krishna. The teachers conducted an interactive session on the story of birth and teachings of Lord Krishna.    


SESSION 2020-21

DUSSEHRA
Dussehra “the festival of victory of good over evil” was celebrated virtually from 19th to 23rd October 2020, by pre-primary and primary with great zeal and fervor. The students were shown short movie on Dussehra followed by craft activity. They enthusiastically crafted miniatures of Ravan and Shri Ram’s Bow and Arrow. The students were encouraged to imbibe the values of honesty, respect, humility and obedience from the life of Lord Ram.


DIWALI
Diwali “The festival of Lights” was virtually celebrated by pre-primary and primary through various creative and innovative activities. The little ones crafted beautiful torans, decorated diyas and made rangoli which gave them an opportunity to demonstrate their fine motor skills and joyfully learn about our culture.


FIT HAI TO HIT HAI
The month of December was dedicated to the theme of Fitness. In the mega event, ‘Fitness ka Doze aadha ghanta Roz’, which was organised from 2nd to 31stDec.20 a plethora of activities were conducted related to sports, physical, mental and emotional fitness. Students from classes III-V participated in poem writing, singing, poster-making, debates, symposium, open mic on topics such as ‘Diet and Nutrition during Pandemic’, ‘Power of Fitness’, ‘Re-strengthening of the mind post pandemic’, ‘Fitness beats Pandemic’, and many more. The theme was celebrated with great fervour, with the students participating in each event with great zeal. Virtual assemblies incorporated a range of exercises, yoga and fitness workouts to give ‘Fitness ka doze, aadha ghanta roz’ to all the learners


CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Christmas celebration started with the story narration of the birth of Baby Jesus conducted by the teachers of primary wing in their respective virtual classes. Teachers shared the significance of the festival followed by melodious carols by the students. Children crafted Santa, Christmas tree and yummy Christmas cake.


‘Online National Quiz on Ganga’
Under the aegis of NMCG (National Mission for Clean Ganga) , Namami Gange' a flagship programme was organised which conducted -Ganga Quest - an online National Quiz on Ganga. Om Raghav of grade 5 B bagged a certificate of merit for participating enthusiastically in the online quiz.


‘Story Telling Session’
The school in partnership with Global Talent Organisation and Sonalika Publication conducted a story telling session on 20th and 21st August for the learners of V and VI on the life of ordinary people who made extraordinary and impactful contribution in the fields of education, science, and technology. Around 135 students participated in the wonderful session that aimed at inspiring the learners to work hard to pursue their dreams and achieving the impossible through perseverance and determination.


‘ Kaushalabhivyakti’
Inter class competitions were conducted in the month of August for classes Pre- Nursery - V with the theme health is wealth, under the FIT INDIA programme to create an awareness about a healthy lifestyle. The learners were provided a potpourri of opportunities to showcase their talent and skills in various events like yoga, role play, poster making, chess, and many more.

Who am I? COMMUNITY HELPERS
The theme Community Helpers was introduced through role play on 4/10/10 in the Multipurpose hall.To help the children understand the importance of Community Helpers and their work an extended activity was conducted in the multipurpose hall where children came dressed as various helpers and spoke about their profession. The children presented their lines with great confidence.

      
Trip to Delhi
To extend learning beyond classroom the school organized an excursion for the learners of primary wing on 19th October. The children visited Railway Museum and National Science Museum where they enjoyed train ride and explored various learning stations. It was a day full of fun and frolic. Children were overjoyed to see the various models of vintage trains and explored various learning tools at the National Science Center.


ART COMPETITION
Harmony House hosted the Interhouse art competition “Paint your Imagination “ on 17.05.19.The budding artists from Primary wing(grade IV-V) represented their respective houses with great fervour and displayed their artistic skills through their art work. The theme for grade IV was 2D mask making (Tribal/Masquerade)and “Save Animal” for grade V. Respected principal ma’am Mrs.Meeta Bhandula motivated the students with her inspiring words. Students painted their thoughts with vibrant colours on paper which left the judges spellbound. The results of the competition are as follows:

“CLEANLINESS IS GODLINESS” taking the thought further the Pre-primary wing conducted personal hygiene week from 8-04-19 to 12- 4-19 to create an awareness in the students about the need of maintaining personal hygiene. Various activities like handkerchief washing ,doll batting, brushing teeth, and combing the hair were conducted . The teachers gave a talk on personal hygiene and discussed various ways of keeping self and the surroundings clean.


“WATER MELON DAY” was integrated with celebrating the colour red on 24-4-19. The tiny tots of pre-primary wing came dressed in red casual wear. They recited rhymes and were shown associated audio visuals. The little ones were served juicy watermelons to beat the heat with they relished.


The 5 SENSE ORGAN were celebrated in the Pre primary wing in the form of Sensory week. The teachers put upf various sensory booths where children explore their senses of hearing, seeing smelling touching and tasting. The sensory stations provided an experimental learning to the students in order to understand the functioning of various sense organ
